First month as a big sister
School's going great still and she took two dance clinic a couple weeks ago. One was put on by one of my girls on the team and the other was a clinic the team puts on for all the k-8th graders out here. Madeline got to dance during half time at the high school basketball game. She did a great job!
Hope everyone is doing well! Enjoy the pics!

Proud Big Sister
I have to admit she seems like such a big girl now that there's someone smaller than her around. She's still my itty bitty, but it hit me one day, watching her hold Libby, how fast she's growing up. We are so very blessed to have two such beautiful girls!

Winter Break Events
The week of December 14th brought an extra week of winter break due to the snow. She had school the Tuesday of that week and was off the rest of it. 3 weeks of break, somewhat stuck in your house, with a cooped up 6 year old and a very pregnant mommy isn't the best of combinations, I might add. I felt bad not being up to playing all day out in the snow but the dogs did a great job of taking over that duty for me.
The week of Christmas was a little crazy. We had an appointment on Tuesday (which you can read ab
Well, I take that back... Jeromy worked on the closet some more and got the door frame up and all ready to go for it to be enclosed. It looks great! We're having a guy come out next week to hang sheet rock, mud, tape and texture it. He's also going to finish the wall in our living room that's been just sheet rock for close to... 3 years! WooHoo!
Madeline got home at 1 on Christmas. We picked her up while our house was being taken over be Jeromy's family. The plan was to go to Grandma Tetz's after getting her, but grandma's power went out about 1 that morning so we offered up our house for warmth and gathering of the troops. She opened all her presents from us and Santa and of course the best present ever was the Wii Santa brought us, I mean her. :-)The rest of the day was pretty fun. We had about 15 people over and had some great games of Wii to partake in. It was a way busier day than planned, but a good one. Angela and Bonnie ended up staying the night and the next day was just a time to recuperate! Saturday I took the girls to the nail salon the have manicures for Angela's birthday present. How cute! Shoot! I left the camera in the car... I'll post that picture up later. The girls saw two movies this weekend. Bedtime Stories with Adam Sandler and Desperough (sp?) the one about the mouse not afraid of cats.
She's off to her dad's again today until Friday but is hoping we'll be picking her up early because we're heading to the hospital. That's going to be grandma Penny and grandpa John's duty. School starts back up next Monday. THANK GOODNESS! She starts a Mad Science class on Tuesdays after school where she gets to learn all sorts of cool sciency things. She also starts in a new ballet class that is the next class up. We'll see how she does!
Well... Everyone have a wonderful new year! Happy 2009!

Busy Maddie...
Madeline's been doing great in school and all the activities she's involved in. She actually was moved up to 2nd grade the week before Thanksgiving! All her test scores are high 2nd grade level and they thought it would be a good idea to just move her. I was a mess with the decision! I kept picturing my baby girl sitting among all these huge kids! And the thought of her now being 12 going into high school and graduating at 16 was overwhelming at times. But... after two weeks she came to me and wanted to go back to 1st grade. She really missed her friends and being so much younger than the kids in her new class was hard for her. I had no problem supporting her decision! We talked to the principle and teachers and she's back in her own class but still goes to the 2nd grade for reading and math. Phew!

Lets see, what else... Soccer is over (thank goodness) but was a lot of fun. She has a ballet recital coming up end of this week and just wrapped up art classes. She's going to start a Mad Science class in January where they learn all kinds of crazy science experiments. We had another jr. dance team clinic she participated in and other than that... just staying busy, off the streets and out of trouble! LOL We got our tree last week, finally and she decorated the whole thing (except for the lights) Jeromy and she got some crazy lights for the front yard that made me decide to take over that job next year! Husbands and 6 year olds shouldn't be allowed to pick out that kind of stuff with out mommy supervision!

Well, she won't be my baby for much longer! I can't believe it! I have a hard time coming to terms with the fact she's 6 1/2 let alone thinking of her as someone's BIG sister! She's so excited for Libby to get here. Oh two beautiful girls...

It's Halloween!
Oh how I love this time of year! Fall is by far my favorite. Especially with the weather cooperating as much as it has been. It's been gorgeous outside! Madeline is doing so well in school. She's been moved into the second highest reading group in the 2nd grade class! We're so proud of her! She's really enjoying school this year and the all day schedule hasn't slowed her down. She's in an art class on Tuesdays from 3-4:30 and then in ballet from 5-6. She's still doing soccer two days a week until November 8th. There have been Halloween parties, and birthday parties and the pumpkin patch and all sorts of events taking up all that free time outside of school.
She attended the Jr. Dance Clinic my team puts on a few times a year. Her class did a dance to Boot Scootin' Boogy. We had 76 kids show up which turned into a huge fundraiser for our team!
I took Madeline to the pumpkin patch by myself... big mistake... A pregnant woman has a hard time carrying a 25 pound pumpkin when she already has one growing in her mid section. We made it though and had some laughs about how silly I looked carrying the thing. I look as huge as the pumpkin! A very nice guy stopped me and carried it to the car that was parked way the heck across the other side of the farm.

Madeline won't be with us on Halloween this year so she's had a great time going to all the parties and wearing different costumes. Last Friday one of the moms organized a bowling Halloween party for the 1st graders. She wore her bumble bee costume from 2 years ago! Her ballet class had a party on Tuesday where she wore a cheerleader costume. She has pumpkin tights and hair goodies she'll wear on Friday with her school uniform.
She's getting pretty excited about Libby getting here. She spends time in Libby's room organizing her things and "breaking in" her new toys. She's practicing to be a good big sister and I'm sure Libby will think so too!
